Ares is thrilled to work with Parisa, she brings extensive experience as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) to provide emotional support to players. Parisa hosts seasonal workshops on mental health for Ares players and offers special pricing to Ares members for one on one or small group private sessions..
With over 20 years of experience in healthcare and mental health, she is dedicated to enhancing the mental and emotional well-being of athletes both on and off the field.
Trained as a family doctor in Iran, Parisa later earned a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology in Canada. As a skilled EMDR therapist, Parisa helps clients process trauma and emotional blocks. Specializing in trauma-informed care, Parisahas experience supporting athletes with performance anxiety, stress, injury-related challenges, and maintaining mental resilience under pressure.
Additionally, Parisa has worked extensively with young athletes, helping them navigate personal and professional challenges, including issues of self-identity, motivation, and balance.
Using evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), alongside Somatic Therapy, Parisa creates a safe space for athletes to explore their challenges and build resilience. Parisa’s goal is to help players thrive emotionally, mentally, and physically, both in their sport and in life.
Fluent in both English and Farsi, Parisa is committed to providing culturally sensitive care for athletes from diverse backgrounds.
Outside of work, Parisa enjoys watching football and ice-skating competitions, which inspire her with their discipline, perseverance, and mental strength. In her spare time, Parisa loves reading, writing short stories, and spending time with her family and two playful cats in North Vancouver. Parisa looks forward to supporting the team’s success, both on and off the field.
